Back to basics
I forgot my sister-in-law's birthday last week. In my defense, this is her first birthday as a "real" relative of mine. However, there's really no excuse. If you're my sister-in-law and are reading this, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Your gift will be in the mail shortly.
This incident has prompted me to go back to basics and get serious about keeping a date book. I've tried using iCal, a Palm Pilot and even tried Outlook for a long time, which worked out for me, but I don't use Windows very often anymore.
I sometimes think that I should try a Palm Pilot again, but today I picked up a Moleskine diary that I'm going to use as a calendar, notebook and journal. That's right, I went old school and reverted back to paper and pen. Now I just need 2005 to hurry up and get here so I can start using it.
One last thing...don't ask why, but I tried to go to rkelly.com a minute ago and was surprised to get redirected to Aljazeera's website. Weird. Try it.
Puma at MOA
Nice! I just found out that there's a Puma store in the Mall of America. Don't get me wrong, I hate going to the MOA, but I'll be making a special trip tonight to round out my winter wardrobe. Plus, the store is close to the secret entrance that I use.
!(Working 9 to 5)
Sorry for the lack of posts recently. I've been extremely busy at work, putting in twelve or more hours a day. The good news is that there's light at the end of the tunnel. The word around the office is that things should return to normal in January, but it really isn't all bad right now. We have our fair share of fun and I really like everyone that I work with. Plus, I'm learning a lot and feel satisfied with what I'm doing.
As good as it is at work, it's still work and I'm looking forward to having some more free time. I can't wait to get back to some of my personal endeavors. I have an idea for a website that I've been wanting launch for for a long time and I also want to get back to working with Live, the music software I bought a couple of months ago.
On the photography front, the weather has been brutal lately, which kills any interest I have in outdoor shooting. I've thought about hanging up my digital camera for awhile and doing more stuff with my Lomo. I'm also kicking around ideas for a couple of indoor photo projects that I might pursue over the winter.
As for my personal life, things are incredible right now. I'd write more, but I don't want to jinx anything.
Oh, how cool is Google's new Suggest Beta?
Slam!
If you're in Minneapolis and don't have plans for Tuesday night, you do now. My friend Meghan is taking a break from wedded bliss to host a poetry slam at Kieran's. I'll be there. So should you.
Shopaholic
So here I am again, apologizing for the lack of posts last week. Lots has been happening and I've been spending most of my time in the real world lately. To be honest, I've met an absolutely wonderful girl and have been spending a lot of time with her. It's been nice...really nice.
One of the perks of dating is that I have a renewed interest in my wardrobe. This weekend I got a personal shopper at Marshall Fields. I bought some great stuff and it feels good to be sporting something other than my usual "uniform" of baggy jeans and long sleeve t-shirts.
I normally don't like spending a lot on clothes, but I've saved so much money by not dating for the past 3 years that I don't feel bad about it.
Things might be a bit quiet here again this week, but I want to say happy holidays to everyone.
Peace,
Craig
WireTap Pro and PHPBB
I thought that I should pass on a few bits of info to my fellow geeks out there. First, a major vulnerability has been found in PHPBB. Fix it.
Second (and this is cool!), WireTap Pro is out and it looks really good. I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but it appears to answer most of my Podcasting wishes.
Finally, I have about 15 Gmail invites if anybody wants one.
Best. Photo. Book. Ever.
My brother just sent me the best photo book: Graffiti World: Street Art from Five Continents. It's 376 pages of some of the best graffiti I've ever seen.
Keyed
My car door got keyed yesterday. I'd be lying if I said that I didn't care about the car, but what really upsets me is that five seconds of fun for somebody is going to cost me $500. Grrr!
