I was too freaked out when I saw Crest citrus toothpaste at Target to consider buying it, but now I can't get it out of my mind. It makes me sick to think of non-mint toothpaste, but there is no way that I'm not buying it tomorrow.

It seems that my Sundays are becoming more and more mundane. Last week I spent most of the day rebuilding my G4. Today I rebuilt my spare Pentium III machine. I installed Win2k and Visual Studio .NET 2003. I'm doing a report on the .NET framework and libraries for one of my classes and I thought I should build at least one .NET application so I have some first hand experience.
Other than that, my weekend was pretty bland. I watched a movie (Owning Mahoney) and ate bad food. I try to eat "fruit sushi" every day, but other than that I have a shitty diet. What's fruit sushi? I take a small fruit platter from Byerly's and wrap each piece in several leaves of baby spinach. It's really good.

So last night I went out at about 9pm to take some pictures of a creepy hotel. It looked really cool and the lighting was just right. The only problem is that I was too scared to get out of the car and set up my tripod. I kept having visions of being killed and stuffed in the dumpster.
I've thought of hiring an off-duty cop to watch my back while going around the city taking night shots, but I think that would be overkill. Does anyone know of a photography club in Minneapolis where I could meet other people that might like to go out taking night shots?

Tonight's the night. I'm pulling this site off of the existing server and changing the DNS to point at the new server. I'm about half way through the conversion to PHP/MySQL and it's been easier than expected. The only problem I've had is not having enough time to dedicate to the conversion.
I can't promise what will or won't be working on the site for a few weeks. I've got finals coming up and two major projects that I need to finish. What I will promise is that I'll keep my moblog updated and share some more digital pictures soon. I recently upgraded to the Digital Rebel and should be able to figure out how to use it properly very soon! Actually, I've already taken some photos that I like a lot, but they've mostly been accidents. Then again, most of my decent photos have been accidents.
PHP .NET is Super
This is a test...a test of my PHP blogging system. Comments will follow.
Not too much else going on. I just finished a 10 page paper on the .NET Framework and class libraries. It was stressing me out, so I am glad to be done with it.
Saturday I am going to Milwaukee with my brother to see the Supersuckers to deliver some guitar pedals to their guitar player. Should be a good time. We're on the guest list. Rock on!
Off to Milwaukee
I'm heading off to Milwaukee tomorrow for the day and have decided that I'm turning the computer off for the night. Comments will have to wait, as if you are all freaking out without them.
I Shot Andy Warhol is up on my Netflix rotation and I'm pressing play now.
I'll check back in on Sunday. Stay tuned to my moblog...even though someone else's photos have been mysteriously showing up.
Back in MN
I'm back from Milwaukee. If you are ever there, visit the Safe House. Hidden walls, secret exists, sliding bookcases...it's incredible. I felt like I was in an old spy movie.
The Supersuckers show was really good too and I had a fun time hanging out with my brother and our friend from high school who lives there now.
Oh yeah, comments are working again.
PHP Cheat Sheet
If I had only found this earlier! Here's a great PHP Cheat Sheet that focuses on comparison statement results. Thanks to Tom on the TCPHP mailing list for pointing it out.
By the way, there's a new wallpaper available. It started as a photo of a rocket engine that I took at the Kennedy Space Center.
Mono-pods, Movies and more
I never thought I'd say this, but Netflix is really starting to bother me. The last two dvd's that I received were so scratched that they were unplayable. Of course, they are sending new copies to me, but it kind of ruined a couple movie nights that I planned on having.
In other news, I'm heading off to purchase a mono-pod now and then going to the museum. I'll hopefully have some pictures worth sharing later tonight.
MIA
The verdict is in: Monopods are allowed at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. I'll even be able to go in with my tripod after I get special permission from the director.
Here's the story. As I mentioned earlier, I went to the museum armed with my new monopod. I called in advance to ask if I would be allowed in with it and was assured that I would be. However, when I got there I noticed I was getting the stink eye from all of the security people.
After about 5 minutes I had 2 guards escort me to a back hallway to "talk". I explained myself and even told them I was a member (which I am), hoping to gain favor with them. I told them that I could understand that tripods would be disallowed because it would be intrusive, but they insisted that there is no distinction between a tripod and a monopod.
A few minutes passed and phone calls were made. After giving my name, phone number (not sure why they needed that) and promising that all photos were for personal use, they decided that I was free to go and even mentioned that they'd draft a memo for future reference. As I was walking away I heard the main guard issue a bulletin over his radio. "Attention all security staff: There is a man named Craig, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, that IS allowed to use a monopod."
Here are a few pictures that I took. I'm not sure it was worth all of the trouble.
cold crap
On Thanksgiving one of my friends was giving me sh!t for something and I need you all to tell me if I'm insane or not.
I really don't see what the big deal is, but I keep old food in my freezer instead of putting it in the trash. My reasons are simple and practical: I don't want my garbage to smell, I don't want to waste garbage bags and I am too lazy to go down to the dumpster every day.
Currently I have a half eaten pizza, a chef salad, an empty yogurt container and some chicken scraps in my freezer. The pizza is in the box, the salad is in a container and the chicken is in a plastic bag. I keep no other food in my freezer, so there is no contamination of old food with new. I don't even keep ice, so there is no potential for "bad ice smell".
My friend has since found out that his parents do the same thing and I've found two other friends of mine that do it as well.
What's the verdict? Is this insane?
