I'm trapped in the fun hell of aquiring someone else's site and making it work. The global.asa file seems complex and needs to be redone. Shouldn't be too bad, but my global.asa experience is a little low. I'm looking forward to the challenge.

I had a great client meeting today. Turns out that he also plays drums and had the same two drum teachers that I had back when I was a serious musician. We hit it off right away and had a hard time getting down to business. If all meetings could be that good...

Better late than never. I've finally added the photos section.

Amazon must think I'm a complete psychopath. My "Gold Box" offers are starting to contain some pretty scary stuff. Just today I was offered great deals on a 101 Dalmatians video game, a dainty serving set, and some pro power tools. Granted, my wish list items are a little all over the map at times, but I'm starting to get a complex.

It will also help to hide the internet from their users.

MIT has decided to post its course materials for the world to use. Over the next 4 to 5 years almost all course material will be available. There's already plenty of information to take in, including a couple dozen or more video lectures!

Wired.com has launched its new, table-free site. I guess it's time to open up that copy of Eric Meyer on CSS and get to work.

If you're like me, you are very busy and are in need of some serious inspiration to finally take on CSS-P.
This should do: Eric Meyer interviews Douglas Bowman, the man behind Wired's new table-less design.

Illegal gambling is a big problem in Greece. How big is it? So big that the government has banned ALL electronic games, including those on personal computers, cell phones, pda's and GameBoys. Amazingly, the law includes bans on Windows games like solitaire, freecell and minesweeper.
Penalties for violating this law range from fines ($5,000 - $75,000) to prison time (up to 12 months).
This law not only applies to the citizens of Greece, but to all visitors to the country. An on-line petition has been started.
You can read the full story at CNET.

I think my hard drive is bad. Fortunately, it's in one of my secondary systems. I have a Compaq Deskpro with a 333mhz processor in it. The hard drive has been grinding for five or ten minutes at a time after the smallest amount of action.
So, I installed Linux on it this morning with the thought that Windows was using too much of Old Bessie's horsepower. No luck.
I just bought a new hard drive and some more RAM. I'll post the results shortly.

I'm posting from my brand spankin' fresh RedHat install. The hard drive and Linux install went well. I had a little problem figuring out how to mount the hard drive in the case, but I actually got it all done during The Sopranos.

I don't remember ever having a cold as bad as the one I have now. I've been up coughing most of the past two nights and don't feel very well today. I'm at work, but I don't think I should be. Funny thing is I've figured out some pretty cool ASP and SQL stuff while in this condition. Maybe it's because I'm usually a lot more hyper than I am when I'm sick and was finally able to sit down and concentrate on one thing. I feel like I'm in another dimension. My whole body is numb, tingling and I feel like I'm floating...I better go.

Zeldman has started the redsign of his site. The design looks really nice and the code is clean. I'm excited to see what else he's got up his sleeve.

Thanks to glish.com I found a nice article on CSS shorthand properties. Over the years I've found Eric's site to be an endless source of information and inspiration. If you haven't already, you'd be wise to pick up this book, which Eric Costello helped write.

It appears that Zeldman has settled on a new look. I'm not quite used to it yet, so I'll reserve judgement for now.
I try not to steal posts directly from Zeldman's site, but this one is too good. Check out an alternative Apple switch ad.

Lots of excitement yesterday! I finally got a copy of Reason and an Oxygen 8 midi controller. Reason is a highly powerful syth and sequencing application. I f'd around with it last night for about 5 hours and came up with a really nice loop. I plan on creating a music subsection in the near future to post some of my past and present creations.
For those that don't know, in a past life I was a fairly respectable drummer. It's fun to get back into music again. I set up my electronic drumkit last week and plan on incorporating it into some of the music I'm doing.
