Great news! It seems that Sony will be shipping the new Cybershot DSC-F717 in October. That means that I'll finally be able to get my hands on the Cybershot DSC-F707 that I've been wanting for a real bargain.

An incredible flaw in Windows XP has been revealed. A simple web link can delete files of the hacker's choosing. If you can, PLEASE run Windows Update and apply the latest service pack. I do not want to reveal how this flaw is exploited, so please visit Windows Update.
If you don't want to run Windows Update, you can get info at Gibson Research as to how to fix this hole.

Greetings from Amazon.com. We've recently learned from our supplier that the item you requested to be notified about, Segway Human Transporter (also known as "Ginger" or "IT"), will not be available in the foreseeable future.

So this guy said to me, "I think you're hitting my balls".
I was at the driving range, so it was in context, but why phrase it like that?

TechTV has a cool little article up on their site that discusses the horrors of hard drive failure and also has links to wav files of the sounds that you never want to hear your computer make.

I just got a new monitor at work. It's a flat panel and is pretty similar to my previous one. What's completely f'd is that the controls for brightness, contrast, etc. max out at 31...or 63 on other settings. Isn't it standard to use values that range from 0-100?

This weekend I attended two birthday parties, drove 200 miles in 3 hours, ordered a computer for my grandma and did last week's calculus homework. I can't wait to get back to work tomorrow so I can relax.

Last night I had a really f'd up dream. I don't remember all of the details, but Dan of redcricket.com was helping me modify my golf swing to accomidate my freshly missing left thumb.
My thumb is a little sore from a hang nail, but I'm not sure why Dan ended up in my freaked out dreamland. I may have to evaluate the amount of time that I'm spending on the internet.

I finally got around to reading the xhtml 2.0 article over at xml.com. XHTML 2.0 feels less like a new house and more like spring cleaning.

I just upgraded to Windows XP Pro. I have to say that it was the easiest install that I've done. I installed it on my Dell C600 laptop and it was a breeze. Typically, with a Win2k install you need to run through the drivers disc to get all of the hardware working properly and with XP I didn't even need to put that disc in. Everything just works. I may have a different story tomorrow, but for now I'm happy.

I'm currently going through hell trying to get drivers for Windows 2000 loaded on a new Dell. The cd that Dell provides with new PC's is nearly useless if you decide to install an OS other than the one that came pre-installed. We go through this every single time with them.

I have a Belkin Wireless Cable/DSL Gateway Router and their matching PCMCIA card. I can't be sure if it's Windows XP or the XP driver for the wireless card, but my internet connection has increased by 5-7 times. I'm getting an internet connection close to 2 megabits over 802.11b. That blows me away. I was previously getting at MOST 300kb with the Win2k OS and driver.

This week will be pretty quiet. I have a calculus test to prepare for and a proposal to write. Towards the end of the week I'll be adding a photos section and start working on getting my bookmarks organized in a database so I can post them here.
