Short day today. We get out at 2:30 and then I have 4 days off. This is going to be great.

Well, I got brave a few minutes ago. I cracked the case of my iMac open and changed the PRAM battery. All went well. I'll post pics a little later.

Well, the thrill of being wireless has worn off a little bit. Being in a one bedroom apartment doesn't allow much room for roaming. However, it is cool to be able to sit out on the balcony with my notebook.

I actually went out today...by myself. I stopped at this driving range not too far from my home and hit a bucket of balls. I'm not a golf guy at all. I don't even own my own clubs. I only golf once a year when my entire office goes golfing. I thought I should practice a little bit. It was a good time.

I'm hitting the driving range tonight after work. The summer golf outing has been replaced with a boat trip, but that's not going to stop me from practicing. It feels good to get outside and do something different.

Cavender's Greek seasoning is amazing. I had some last night on a grilled pork chop. You should try it.

Woo hoo! I'm finally listed at dmoz. Now it's only a matter of time before I can be found on Google.

Man, I hope I don't come off as being cheap or unimpressed with the Jaguar announcement, but $129 for an OS X upgrade seems a bit steep. I can see that price for a new user buying the operating system for the first time, but I've already shelled out a hundred and thirty bucks for OS X once. Am I going to do it again? Probably not. I think I can wait for Jaguar until I upgrade my mac.

I got stung by a bee today for the first time in about 20 years. I stepped on it while practicing my golf swing on the front lawn at my mom's house. It hurt like a bastard. I was cursing and hopping around and in all the madness my mom stepped on my other foot by accident. That took my mind off of the sting for a minute.

I broke down and bought my first set of golf clubs yesterday. They're a generic brand (Outward Nine) and the whole set was only $230 with a pretty nice bag. For that price I was expecting shitty clubs, but they feel good to me and look good, too. If I end up really getting into golf I might buy better clubs in a year or two, but these should suit me just fine while I'm hacking at the grass and dirt.

I watched a very good documentary this weekend on IFC. Actually, I watched it twice. It's called "They Shoot Movies Don't They?". It'll air again next Saturday a couple of times and should not be missed. It you do miss it, you can get a copy at the official website.

The Shins

Thanks to Eric at glish.com for exposing me to them. Whatever the legality of his mp3 posting, I'm now going to purchase a cd that I would have otherwise not known about.

Shit, it finally happened. I smashed up my trusty Saturn. I was going about 35 mph on the street just before my apartment when this guy pulled out in front of me. I hit the brakes, but hit him full on the side of his car. That was it.

I remember being worried that the airbag would inflate and smash my glasses through my eyeballs.

The guy that caused the incident was an older Russian man. He was nice and apologized. I'm glad that nobody got hurt.

Here are the gruesome photos:

Note to self:
Don't practice golf indoors. See why.

It must be a sick joke. I brought my Saturn wagon to the body shop this morning to take care of the damage from last week's accident. I was excited all weekend at the prospect of driving a "normal" rental car for a few days. It's probably no surprise that my dream car wasn't waiting there for me. I'm stuck driving a Mercury wagon all week. I guess I'm just not meant to impress the ladies with my ride.
